‘2nd generation legend’ girl group After School reunites, sharing a heartfelt group photo with fans
On September 9 KST, member Lizzy shared several photos on social media with the caption, “Summary of yesterday.”
The photos reveal After School members gathering after a long time to celebrate Kahi’s dance school opening.
Kahi is reportedly preparing to open a dance academy in Seoul in mid-September.
Among those attending the academy were Kahi, Jungah, Raina, Nana, Lizzy, and Kaeun. Unfortunately, members Uee, Jooyeon, and Bekah were absent.
Although not a full reunion, the group photo featuring many of the members has stirred up nostalgia among fans of 2nd generation idol groups.
After School debuted in 2009 with the single album [New Schoolgirl] and produced numerous hits such as “AH,” “Diva,” “Bang!,” “Shampoo,” and “Flashback,” earning love for their impeccable synchronized performances.
Notably, After School implemented a unique “admission and graduation” system, resulting in frequent member changes.
After 2015, the group’s full activities essentially came to a halt, and their unit promotions ended after their Japanese contract expired in 2016. Although After School never officially announced a disbandment, as of September 2024, all members’ contracts have expired, with even Nana, the last remaining member who pursued acting, departing the agency.
