On September 6 KST, Kishida Yuko, the wife of the Japanese Prime Minister, visited major K-Pop agency HYBE Labels, accompanied by the South Korean first lady Kim Keon Hee.
The visit was titled 'Visiting the Site of K-Pop, A Important Connection Between Korea and Japan' and featured Kishida Yuko and Kim Keon Hee meeting with various representatives of HYBE Labels, including members of currently promoting K-Pop idol groups as well as trainees awaiting their debut.
It's reported that Kishida Yuko personally encouraged several artists and trainees from Japan, stating, "I'm so glad to see that you came all the way to Korea to fulfill your dreams. K-Pop is massively popular around the globe, and to see you all being a part of that, you are truly the pride of Japan. Thanks to your efforts, the people of Korea and Japan have opened up their hearts to one another."
First lady Kim Keon Hee also added on, "When artists from Korea and Japan combine their strengths, it will greatly enhance the power of Asian culture."
Following the meeting with HYBE Labels representatives, artists, and trainees, Kishida Yuko and Kim Keon Hee took a tour of the company while learning about the process of idol group production.
Meanwhile, the Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and his wife Kishida Yuko will be visiting South Korea for 2 days from September 6-7.
