ASTRO’s main vocalist MJ releases solo track after 3 years.
ASTRO’s MJ is set to release his new solo single, "Why Are You So Pretty", on September 24th at 12 PM KST through various music platforms.
On September 23rd, the music publishing company Claff Company announced its collaboration with MJ for the K-Music ON! project, a part of the Korea Creative Content Agency’s 2024 Content Creative Talents Program. The announcement was made through their official website and social media channels, capturing the attention of K-pop fans.
"Why Are You So Pretty" is a charming and heartfelt song that expresses the sweet emotions of falling in love. MJ’s soft and warm vocals bring to life the excitement of a blossoming romance, capturing everything from the initial flutters to the warmth of love.
The track was composed by JAK, known for his work across various K-pop and OST projects. The lively string arrangements, bouncing EP, and complementary guitar rhythms make the song even richer. Lyrics like “Why are you so pretty, just by looking at your face?” and “You’re the end of my movie” add a special touch of sincerity and excitement, which MJ beautifully delivers with his emotive vocals.
The new single is part of Claff Company’s K-Music ON! project, which aims to highlight collaborations between talented songwriters and artists. This initiative received support through the 2024 Content Creative Talents Program by the Korea Creative Content Agency.
Since debuting with ASTRO’s first mini album "Spring Up" in 2016, MJ and the group members have been active in songwriting, acting, variety shows, and musicals. MJ has established a solid reputation in musicals such as "Jamie, Jack the Ripper," and "Winter Traveler". He is currently starring in "Zorro: The Actor-Musician," which premiered on September 11th KST. Additionally, MJ showcased his versatility with his 2021 solo debut in the trot genre with Happy Virus.
Fans can enjoy "Why Are You So Pretty" on global music platforms starting at noon on September 24th KST, with a special clip to be released on YouTube and other social media channels.
