The police will soon summon BTS member SUGA for questioning after he was caught driving an electric scooter while intoxicated.
On August 15, the police announced they were coordinating the summons investigation schedule. The police explained, "Now all that's left is the summons investigation, and we are coordinating the schedule."
Just a day before, the CCTV footage showing SUGA riding an electric scooter and falling while riding on the sidewalk has also been released.
In the surveillance video, SUGA was seen falling down as soon as he turned left into the apartment complex's entrance with his helmet falling off immediately. Police officers patrolling the area smelled alcohol and conducted a breathalyzer test, and his blood alcohol content was over 0.2%, which is the level where a license is revoked.
According to the police, SUGA was riding a foldable electric scooter.
A police officer stated, "The electric scooter that Sugar was riding had a top speed of 30 km/h, and it is classified as a motorized bicycle, not a personal mobility device, so it is subject to criminal prosecution."
JTBC reported CCTV footage of the scooter running on the road across from Nine One Hannam around the same time the day after SUGA was caught by the police. However, after investigating the route, etc., the police confirmed that the driver in the footage was not SUGA.
