FIESTAR is set to reunite as a full group, nearly six years after their official disbandment in 2018.
According to industry reports on August 27, FIESTAR will release a new song on August 31 to commemorate their 12th debut anniversary. The group plans to reconnect with fans through this new release.
All original members—Jei, Linzy, Yezi, Hyemi, and Cao Lu—are participating in the comeback. Remarkably, the members took on the entire process, from investment to production, independently.
One of the standout aspects of this reunion is that member Cao Lu personally invested in the project. Without the support of a management or production agency, FIESTAR’s self-driven comeback is expected to be the first of its kind in the industry.
The FIESTAR members shared, “It’s true that we divided responsibilities for the album production among ourselves. It was our first time handling such tasks, and while it was challenging, every moment was incredibly precious.” They added, “We hope this can be a small gift to the fans who loved and remembered FIESTAR.”
The new song, set to be released on August 31, is reported to be a remake of one of FIESTAR‘s hit tracks, “You’re Pitiful,” and the group plans to continue activities with various content following their comeback.
Currently, Jei is active as an actress, recently starring in the drama ‘Rental Apartment.’ Linzy has transitioned to musical theater and is currently performing in ‘Evil Dead.’ Yezi and Hyemi are working as musicians and producers, while Cao Lu has been engaged in live commerce in China since her contract ended in 2020.
FIESTAR originally debuted on August 31, 2012, and after seven years of activities, officially disbanded in May 2018 when the members’ contracts expired.
