A recent survey has revealed that BTS is considered the most representative singer of Korea.
On an online forum, netizens discussed the 2024 survey titled "Who is the representative singer of Korea?", which included responses from a thousand members of the South Korean public. The respondents were selected from a diverse pool of age ranges and regions across the southern peninsula.
The survey showed that "BTS" was the most frequently mentioned artist in every age category, from teenagers starting at age 18, to those in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and even those 70 and older.
Following BTS, the most named artists were:
- BTS (61%)
- Cho Yong Pil (21%)
- Lim Young Woong (21%)
- Na Hoon Ah (20%)
- BLACKPINK (18%)
- IU (16%)
- NewJeans (12%)
- Psy (10%)
- Lee Mi Ja (10%)
The survey also revealed that 6 out of 10 teens aged 18 and 19 chose "BTS" as their answer.
Other artists who received less than 10% of the votes included Nam Jin, IVE, aespa, Lee Hyori, and more.
