Cha Seung Won, Park Hee Soon, and Yoon Ga Yi are set to join the world of director Park Chan Wook.
According to the film industry on July 16 KST, the three actors have recently confirmed their appearances in Park Chan Wook's new film and are currently coordinating detailed schedules. This project marks director Park Chan Wook's first directorial work since 'Decision to Leave' and it is known as his "lifetime project" that he has been preparing for years. It is a thriller genre based on an original work.
Previously, top actors such as Lee Byung Hun, Son Ye Jin, Lee Sung Min, Yum Hye Ran, and Yoo Yeon Seok have been named in the lineup, raising significant expectations among domestic and international film fans.
This is the second time Cha Seung Won will be working with director Park Chan Wook. The two recently collaborated on the Netflix original 'Jeon, Ran' where Park Chan Wook joined as a producer and co-writer. The project is set to be released later this year.
There is also significant interest in the reunion of Cha Seung Won and Lee Byung Hun. Although the two appeared together in the 2022 show 'Our Blues' they had very few scenes together. Fans are eager to see the acting synergy they will bring to this new project.
This marks Park Hee Soon's first time working with director Park Chan Wook. Although Park Hee Soon has created hits with directors through films like 'The Suspect' 'V.I.P' 'The Fortress' '1987' and 'The Witch' he has yet to work with Park Chan Wook.
Park Hee Soon, who earned the nickname "sexy middle age" through Netflix's 'My Name' has been increasing his global recognition with consecutive appearances in OTT original series like Disney+'s 'Moving' and Netflix's 'Seonsan'. There is much anticipation for the synergy he will create with the world-renowned director Park Chan Wook.
Yoon Ga Yi reportedly joined the project after passing auditions with hundreds of other candidates. Known for her impressive presence in Coupang Play's 'SNL Korea Season 4'. Yoon Ga Yi will be making her first foray into commercial film through this project and plans to continue her active career as a actress.
Meanwhile, director Park Chan Wook's new film is set to begin full-scale filming in August.
