SHINee's Minho goes to the Paris Olympics as an ‘Olympic™ Friend’
According to SM Entertainment on July 24 KST, Minho will attend the 33rd Paris Olympics, which opens on July 26th (local time), as an ‘Olympic™ Friend’ for the International Olympic Committee (IOC). He will watch various events, feel the passionate atmosphere with numerous spectators, and wholeheartedly support the Korean athletes.
Minho is the first person in the world to be appointed as an ‘Olympic™ Friend’. This new program by the IOC allows celebrities to promote the values of the Olympics. Previously, Minho promoted the '2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games' through this program by serving as a torchbearer in Chuncheon, meeting with luge athletes, and participating in various activities.
Minho also has a special connection with the Olympics, having participated in the public diplomacy campaign ‘Girls Play 2!’ in November 2017. His congratulatory speech wishing for the successful hosting of the '2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics' drew significant attention. Therefore, his attendance at the 33rd Paris Olympics is expected to attract considerable interest.
Additionally, Minho will appear as Nam Tae Pyeong, a character living life his own way, in JTBC's new Saturday-Sunday drama ‘Family X Melo’, which premieres on August 10 KST at 10:30 PM. He is also cast as Val in the play ‘Waiting for Godot’s Waiting’, which opens at Yes24 Stage 3 on September 7, marking his debut on the theater stage.
