NewJeans' member's mother, Ms. A: "Chairman Bang does not accept NewJeans' greetings, HYBE CEO Park Ji-won promises long vacation for the group"

Amid a fierce conflict between HYBE and its label ADOR, the mother of one of the NewJeans members, identified only as Ms. A, conducted a telephone interview with Ilgan Sports. Ms. A expressed regret, saying on the 12th, "I feel really distressed that this situation arose because we sent such an email."

Ms. A recounted that on April 25, the day of Min Hee-jin (CEO of ADOR)'s press conference, she and two other NewJeans mothers visited HYBE. "We were worried about the repercussions and thought that maybe we could bridge the gap between HYBE and ADOR," she added.

"Mr. Park Ji-won (CEO of HYBE) arrived about 20 minutes late, while other executives were already there," Ms. A continued, "We barely had a few minutes to discuss our mediation before they showed us on laptops that 'CEO Min had done this and that wrong.'"

Previously, the parents of the NewJeans members, including Ms. A, had sent an email to ADOR on March 31, pointing out issues of plagiarism by a newly debuted group under HYBE's sub-label Belift Lab. CEO Min sent an email containing her opinions, including this issue, to HYBE and Belift Lab on April 3. ADOR sent another email on April 16 after receiving no response, and HYBE replied to the first email on April 22, subsequently initiating an audit of ADOR that afternoon.

In response to suspicions that the NewJeans mothers were persuaded by CEO Min to send such emails, Ms. A said, "Even HYBE mentioned that, showing us messages from ADOR's Vice President and saying that they know all about it, which was quite shocking."

"We didn't know if we could use certain words, so we asked CEO Min to check the email we wanted to send," Ms. A explained, affirming at the meeting with HYBE's executives that it was indeed started by them (the NewJeans parents).

Ms. A also shared an anecdote about her confusion when friends sent her concept photos of another group, mistaking them for NewJeans's new photos due to similarities but noticing a missing '00.' "It was very similar, so the mothers discussed it and asked CEO Min about it," she stated.

Regarding an incident where "HYBE's Chairman Bang Si-hyuk didn't even greet our kids, which seems to be a similar experience for other kids after their debut," Ms. A commented, "One child was even in an elevator with him, and he didn't acknowledge the greeting."

When this issue was raised again, HYBE personnel responded, "Ladies, you're really misunderstanding; Chairman Bang might have face blindness," she added.

"After leaving the meeting, I thought, 'If he has face blindness, can't he still hear? And wouldn't you normally acknowledge a greeting even if you can't recognize the person?'" Ms. A recounted.

Furthermore, during the meeting, HYBE discussed CEO Min's management of another group and cautioned that the conversation was sensitive and should not be shared with the children. "Yet, within an hour of leaving HYBE, articles about that group's management began appearing. It seemed contradictory to how they spoke of caring for the kids," Ms. A added.

Later, CEO Park told the NewJeans parents that although CEO Min hadn't shared any data on NewJeans' upcoming Tokyo Dome event, HYBE's professionals could handle it well. "He also mentioned that after the Tokyo Dome event, he planned to give NewJeans a long vacation," Ms. A revealed.

In the interview, Ms. A emphasized, "We clearly told HYBE that we want NewJeans to continue with CEO Min, a sentiment all five members' mothers share."

Addressing concerns about the potential neglect of the idols by HYBE without CEO Min, Ms. A mentioned, "Before this issue arose, we heard from CEO Min about plans for a NewJeans world tour next year. Now, they are talking about a long vacation..."

A senior HYBE official clarified, "Giving them a long vacation doesn't mean they will be on hiatus. It's usual for idols to work hard post-comeback, then rest, and then prepare for another comeback." The official further explained, "This does not mean we are halting NewJeans' activities. HYBE is committed to caring for NewJeans and supporting them to become top artists."

The official also countered claims about a potential hiatus, saying, "Why would we discuss producers and creators if we were planning a hiatus? This is just a malicious play by CEO Min to incite fan anger for her personal independence."

Regarding allegations of embezzlement against CEO Min, the official stated, "There is a lot of evidence, and when it is presented in court, everyone will understand HYBE's sincerity."

is HYBE that blinded by their own ego that they can’t accept NewJeans’ success? Not acknowledging one of the members greetings in an elevator is next level petty. Those girls are making them millions.
