HyunA, gearing up for her solo comeback, recently opened up about the challenges she endured, particularly regarding extreme dieting, during her time as an idol.
A teaser featuring HyunA aired on May 4 as part of the MBC entertainment program 'Point of Omniscient Interfere.' In the teaser, she offered viewers a glimpse inside her home for the first time, showcasing an array of personally crafted items that captured the attention and admiration of the show's hosts.
In the midst of her preparations for a comeback after a two-year hiatus, HyunA took a moment to reflect on her past experiences during a meal with her team. During this conversation, she revealed, "I used to eat very little. There were times when I would go a week without eating, and I even developed peripheral neuritis. Whenever my weight dropped too low, it would trigger it," leaving everyone surprised. She went on to share, "I would faint after surviving on just one piece of kimbap. I fainted 12 times in a month," shocking everyone at the table.
Furthermore, as she reminisced about the challenges she faced, HyunA couldn't hold back her tears, offering heartfelt advice: "Stay healthy and don't fall ill like I did," expressing her empathy for others who may be struggling.
In the meantime, fans can enjoy HyunA's new album 'Attitude,' which was released on May 2, while 'Point of Omniscient Interfere,' featuring her sincere thoughts, is set to air next Saturday at 11:10 PM on Naver TV.
Korean netizens commented:
"She chose to do that herself though."
"If you're trying to manage yourself by losing weight and improving yourself, but it becomes excessive to the point where you can't control your own body, then that's not self-care, it's a lack of self-management."
"I wish they would take care of their health better."
"Even ordinary people would not survive on just one piece of Kimbap."
"Why did she starve? For diet?"
"To lose weight, you need to eat at the same time, sleep well, and not get stressed."
"She didn't need to starve. She would've lost weight from dancing so much even if she didn't starve herself."
"I think she needed a break than anything."

If you are going to eat, eat healthy and balanced food daily, NOT fatty foods/fast food daily or almost daily/weekly because over time that harmful food will make you sick too, whether with cancer, etc.
Losing too much weight is as bad as gaining too much weight because it causes weakness, fatigue, body pain, etc., and your immune system is destroyed.
So the smartest thing is to get help from a true and professional nutritionist to maintain the right weight for your body and thus keep it healthy.
