Prior to Ahn Bo Hyun’s ‘Hello’ fan meeting in Manila, the actor — who has starred in dramas like 'Military Prosecutor Doberman', 'Yumi’s Cell', 'My Name', 'Itaewon Class', 'See You in My 19th Life', and 'Flex X Cop' — sat down with the members of the press to answer questions about his long-term career.
When asked how he feels about the summer heat in the country, he responded, “Whenever summer comes, we prefer winter. Then when winter comes, we prefer summer. And because I like to go to the beach, I think I prefer summer.”
The host then asked him if he was able to try any Filipino food, Bo Hyun, in response, said that he prefers having different cuisines. He added, “I was able to figure out some similar foods here in the Philippines that are in Korea. Luckily, I was able to see some of them during my breakfast at the hotel, so I was able to try some. Not a lot, but they are very delicious.”
On his fan meeting experience so far: “I’d like to say that it’s going pretty well. I’ve seen a lot of Filipino fans supporting me through comments on social media. I’m really happy to see them in person this time.”
“Of course, rather than a trip, I’m really excited to meet my fans through the fan meeting,” he said. “Many of my friends have visited the Philippines, and they actually loved this country so much.”
We also had the chance to ask questions to the actor.
allkpop: In what ways do you think you've grown in terms of expressing a person who is not Ahn Bo Hyun when portraying different characters? And what have you learned about that process?
Ahn Bo Hyun: I would like to say that I’m still growing at the moment. I’m really happy that I'm doing the job that I love to do. I really feel happy at the moment. But when I go into a role, I don't feel like I'm good at it already, but I'm a challenger. I'm doing something to challenge myself and be better every time. Also, because of my age, I'm able to understand much of the emotions in acting, which helps me a lot in portraying a role.
allkpop: In an interview, you said that one of the important things for you is keeping your initial mindset. Could you describe to us what that mindset of yours is like?
Ahn Bo Hyun: I love the idea of the initial mindset. I know there are a lot of external factors, but the initial mindset of mine is to never give up. If you never give up, there will be opportunities; things will come into place. Those kinds of initial mindsets are really encouraging me to do better, so I always keep them in mind. [He then shows the necklace he's wearing that has “initial mindset” engraved on it.]
The Manila stop, happening on the 25th at the New Frontier Theater, is the 6th city of this tour, following Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Taipei.
Concluding the press conference, Bo Hyun invites fans to come to his fan meeting: “I think it’s a whole different feeling I’m feeling right now. The opportunity given to me to be able to communicate with my fans and also several journalists in front of me just feels surreal at the moment. I hope you can visit the fan meeting tomorrow!”
Ahn Bo Hyun’s first fan meeting in Manila is presented by Wilbros Live and IAM Worldwide.

I watched him on an episode of Yoo Jae Suk's new variety: Whenever Possible and he seems like a candid, grounded individual. Wishing ABH the very best in his career. :)
