MC Mong, who had previously received a fine of 3 million KRW (2,300 USD) for failing to respond to the court's summons, finally appeared as a witness for the ongoing trial involving professional golfer Ahn Sung Hyun, the husband of Sung Yuri.

On April 2, MC Mong appeared via video broadcast at the trial for the 11th Criminal Division of the Soul Southern District Court and testified as a witness. On this day, MC Mong testified that singer/actor Lee Seung Gi introduced him to Ahn Sung Hyun.

The trial centers on four defendants: Ahn Sung Hyun, Lee Sang Jun (former CEO of Bithumb Holdings), Kang Jong Hyun (alleged owner of Bithumb), and Mr. Song (a relative), all implicated in an alleged 'crypto coin listing kickback' fraud scheme.

The prosecution reports that Ahn agreed to receive a 5% stake in MC Mong's entertainment agency in exchange for facilitating investment from Kang, and Ahn received a guarantee deposit amounting to 2 billion KRW (~1.5 million USD) in cash.

During the witness testimony on this day, MC Mong explained, "In November 2021, Lee Seung Gi introduced me to Ahn Sung Hyun as a 'significant investor' at the Big Planet Made company office in Cheongdam-dong." He further explained, "I heard he (Ahn Sung Hyun) was a hardworking individual from a very reputable family and company. At that time, it was shortly after Big Planet Made was established. So, it was a time when I wanted to meet a lot of investors."

MC Mong stated that there was no specific reason why he trusted Ahn Sung Hyun, but he had "unconditional faith" in Ahn. MC Mong explained, "Given my close relationship with Sung Yuri as her junior in the industry, I naturally believed in (Ahn Sung Hyun) because I trusted that she married a good and trustworthy individual."

MC Mong also revealed why he had not responded to the court's summons multiple times. He explained, "During the four-year trial on military service evasion, I developed a trauma towards the court. I should've appeared earlier, and I apologize for the delay. I was unable to respond to the summons because of my traumatic state. I wasn't trying to avoid the summons on purpose."

In response to MC Mong's testimony that day, the court canceled all the fines previously imposed on him for not responding to the summons.
