BTS's Jungkook achieved another milestone as a solo artist and became the first K-pop artist to have a solo album achieve 3 billion streams on Spotify.
Jungkook's first solo album, released in November 2023, 'GOLDEN,' recorded 3,083,874,414 streams on the world's largest music streaming platform, Spotify, as of March 28. This was achieved in just 141 days since its release.
According to the official 'World Music Awards' (WMA) account, 'GOLDEN' set a new record as the fastest album by an Asian artist and the first K-pop solo artist to surpass 3 billion streams in Spotify history.
The 'GOLDEN' album, featuring 11 songs across various genres, saw the track "Seven" achieve 1 billion streams in a record-breaking time on Spotify, reaching the 1 billion stream mark in just 108 days. Additionally, "Seven" set another record by garnering 1.4 billion streams within 220 days, making it the fastest debut song to reach this milestone globally.
Jungkook also became the first K-pop solo artist to achieve 1 billion streams on Spotify in 2024.
In addition, he became the first Asian solo artist to stay on the main album chart 'Billboard 200' for 20 consecutive weeks. He also succeeded in charting for a record-breaking 8 weeks on the 'UK Official' main album chart 'Top 100', which is one of the two major music charts alongside Billboard.
