Mnet has confirmed the premiere of its 2024 global K-pop girl group debut project 'I-LAND2: N/a' for Thursday, April 18th, and introduced actor Song Kang as the storyteller.
In 'I-LAND', which captures the competition and growth narrative of the participants between the divided spaces of 'I-LAND' and 'Ground', the 'Storyteller' serves as a symbolic presence that connects the viewers and leads the universe of the show. Following actor Namgoong Min, who enhanced the immersion with his profound presence in season 1, the versatile and popular actor Song Kang is expected to showcase his charm in various genres.
As the next-generation storyteller who will observe the growth of the applicants and lead the narrative and universe of the program, Song Kang expressed, "I am delighted to join the journey of new artist creation as the storyteller of 'I-LAND2'. I will do my best to deliver the newly refreshed story to the viewers."
Returning for its second season, 'I-LAND2: N/a' promises to document the journey of forming a girl group that will lead the new trends in the global music market through special collaborations unseen before. The subtitle 'N/a' signifies the meeting of 'N', representing unpredictable diversity, and 'a' (alpha), symbolizing infinite possibilities.
'I-LAND2: N/a' draws global K-pop fans' attention with Teddy, the head of The Black Label and one of the '50 Greatest Producers of the 21st Century' as selected by Billboard in 2021, participating as the master producer. Teddy has produced hit songs for world-famous girl groups like BLACKPINK, Jeon Somi, and 2NE1.
