Stray Kids fans are demanding Hyunjin leave the group.

On March 14, a post including photos of a protest truck demanding for Hyunjin's withdrawal from Stray Kids outside of JYP Entertainment's office building went viral. The protest truck in question includes a number of messages like "Hwang Hyunjin, get out," "Who gave Stray Kids the image of bullies? You're so cool, Hyunjin," "If you can't fix it, throw it away! Stop holding back the team, and get out," "This is the third controversy. All 3 times it's been about Hwang Hyunjin. What's JYP's standard to kick him out," and more.

Hyunjin has faced a number of controversies, including a school bullying controversy in 2021, a controversy over his phone wallpaper of aespa's Karina the same year, and most recently, he's been caught up in rumors of a "one night stand" with controversial former idol trainee Han Seo Hee. The rumors of their relations spread through screenshots of their alleged chat logs, which the original poster admitted to fabricating. Han Seo Hee herself also denied the chat logs were real.
