On February 16 KST, girl group FIFTY FIFTY's agency ATTRAKT released an official statement to confirm that The Givers CEO Ahn Sung Il, accused of attempting to poach FIFTY FIFTY from their agency, has been sent to prosecution.
ATTRAKT revealed on this day, "We recently received a notice from the Seoul Gangnam Police Station stating, 'After acknowledging the following crimes including obstruction of justice, destruction of electronic records, and breach of trust, the accused, Ahn Sung Il, has been sent to prosecution.'"
Previously, ATTRAKT filed a lawsuit against Ahn Sung Il in June of last year for the above allegations, then followed up with additional allegations of embezzlement and forgery of business documents a month later. According to ATTRAKT, the police are still investigating the follow-up accusations. If acknowledged, the latter accusations will be added onto Ahn Sung Il's offenses.
The ongoing case surrounding ATTRAKT's CEO Jeon Hong Jun, The Givers CEO Ahn Sung Il, and FIFTY FIFTY began on June 19, 2023, when the members of FIFTY FIFTY filed for the nullification of their exclusive contracts with ATTRAKT, shortly after the massive success of their single "Cupid". However, the court dismissed this request in August. It was then revealed that Ahn Sung Il and The Givers had schemed to "poach" the girl group FIFTY FIFTY from ATTRAKT by coercing the members to pursue legal separation from their label.
