Jo Byung Kyu has turned down the lead role in the upcoming historical drama 'Saeraenadae'.
On January 12, Jo Byung Kyu's label HB Entertainment revealed, "It's true Jo Byung Kyu received an offer to star as the lead in the new drama 'Saeraenadae', but because of scheduling conflicts, he turned down the offer."
Jo Byung Kyu was previously offered the role of Joseon Prince Park Yeong, who pretends to be an unemployed man. 'Saeraenadae' is set in a virtual Joseon and tells the love story between a prince and a young lady from a humble family.
In other news, the actor is currently awaiting a reexamination to serve as an active-duty soldier later this year. He previously received a physical examination rank of Grade 4 due to his scoliosis, which would mean he would serve as a public service officer.
Jo Byung Kyu is also filming for the upcoming movie 'Even if I Die, One More Time' and the drama 'Paradise'.
