NCT's Doyoung has made a meaningful donation of approximately $38,462 (50 million Won) to the Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byung-jun) for children in need.
In line with the Christmas and year-end spirit, Doyoung donated approximately $38,462 to the Community Chest of Korea. This donation, as per Doyoung's wishes, is intended to support child welfare initiatives.
Earlier in February, Doyoung donated approximately $76,923 (100 million Won) to aid the recovery efforts of the Trkiye-Syria earthquake, joining the Honor Society (Central Association No. 3112) – a group of donors who have contributed over approximately $76,923. Doyoung continues to spread his positive influence by practicing philanthropy both domestically and internationally, at the start and end of the year.
Fans are also participating in this positive influence initiated by the artist. In March, to commemorate Doyoung's 7th debut anniversary, fans from home and abroad established the 'NCT Doyoung Forest' in Nanji Hangang Park Grass Square, taking a step forward in environmental protection activities.
Doyoung expressed, "While Christmas is an exciting day for everyone, I hope it remains a particularly special memory for children and becomes a warmer day. I hope this small gesture can help make the precious dreams of these children come true."
Meanwhile, the Community Chest of Korea launched its year-end concentrated fundraising campaign 'Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign' on December 1, setting up the symbolic 'Love Thermometer' in Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul. The campaign, with the slogan 'Make Myself Valuable through Donation, Make the World Valuable through Donation,' will be held for 62 days until January 31 next year across 17 regional chapters nationwide.
The campaign's target amount is approximately $334,615,000 (434.9 billion Won), with the Love Thermometer rising by 1 degree for every approximately $334,615 (43.49 million Won) collected, corresponding to 1% of the target amount. The thermometer will reach 100 degrees upon achieving the goal. As of today (26th), the Love Thermometer's degree of sharing stands at 62.9 degrees.
