Guinness World Records mentions LISA and BLACKPINK as the Kpop Acts who made history this year

The Guinness World Records have commemorated the most iconic moments of 2023 with a list of some of the records that marked impressive milestones during each month of the year. With mentions ranging from the world's oldest people, premature babies defying the odds, to epic stunts and impressive feats achieved in music. It was obvious that K-pop would have a well-deserved place after its enormous growth globally, with Lalisa Manobal (known as Lisa) and Blackpink being the acts honored by South Korea.

In particular, the Guinness World Records mentioned the following:

"2023 was a huge year for K-pop, kicking off with three records being set by BLACKPINK’s LISA in January. She became the First Solo K-pop winner at the MTV Video Music Awards and the First Solo K-pop winner at the MTV Europe Music Awards, as well as earning the record for Most Followers on Instagram for a K-pop Artist".

"But this was just the beginning of record-breaking activities in the K-pop world this year, with BLACKPINK becoming the most streamed female group on Spotify and then again BLACKPINK’s Lisa making history when “LALISA” became the First K-pop track by a Solo Artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify".

Currently Lisa has established herself as the biggest K-pop soloist in history with 8 Guinness World Records and being honored this year as the First K-pop act to be included as a cultural icon in the "Asian Hall of Fame". While BLACKPINK has continued to break impressive group records, recently establishing themselves as the First Girl Group in 18 years to win the 'Billboard Music Awards' and "Born Pink" became the highest-grossing tour by an Asian Act.

Additionally, it has been reported that BLACKPINK has earned a spot on the 'Guinness World Records 2024' being the first K-pop girl group to reach #1 on the US and UK album charts.

Congratulations to LISA and BLACKPINK!

Not gonna hate but I don't even remember the name of her release...

Guiness World records are becoming a laughing stock in general in recent years. They like to kiss the asses of dictators for money and every new record is like "Oh look, this guy can fit 100 forks in his mouth!"

I'm sure every one of us could break a record bc there are so many things on earth one could do others simply don't care to do bc they are dumb...

Blackpink on the same page of freaking Kate Bush? You kidding me, ur basically comparing shit and gold. Kate was an artist with a big A, a great performer, dancer, know how to sing, and producer of her own music, that got known for her skills.

They ain't even close to be on the same level...
