Following actor Lee Sun Gyun, it has been revealed that the celebrity who was booked by the police on suspicion of drug use is singer G-Dragon. In light of this, his past interview video is being brought to attention.
G-Dragon conducted an interview with fashion magazine 'Elle' last October. This interview video has been receiving much attention following the news of the artist being booked on drug charges. In the video interview at that time, G-Dragon speaks somewhat hesitantly, struggling to connect his thoughts properly, and continuously moves his body. Many pointed out his slurred speech, in which the words are not clearly articulated.
On October 25, the Incheon Police Drug Crime Investigation Unit announced that they had booked G-Dragon for alleged violations of the Narcotics Control Act and are currently investigating the matter. However, the police explained that G-Dragon's case is unrelated to Lee Sun Gyun's drug use incident.
In relation to this, G-Dragon's former agency, YG Entertainment, stated, "He is not currently under our agency, so giving an official response is difficult."
Previously, YG disclosed that G-Dragon's exclusive contract had expired in June and mentioned, "We are cooperating through separate contracts for advertising and other activities. Additional contracts will be discussed when resuming music activities, and YG will spare no effort in supporting that."
In 2011, G-Dragon was investigated by the prosecution on suspicion of marijuana smoking, but at that time, he received a suspended indictment. G-Dragon's agency at the time explained, "During a gathering in Japan while on tour, he had a few puffs of a cigarette when a young Japanese person offered it to him."
Meanwhile, the police have placed a total of 8 individuals under investigation in connection with the Lee Sun Gyun's case.
Lee Sun Gyun has been booked for violating the Narcotics Control Act, specifically for marijuana and synthetic drug use. The manager, known to be associated with the entertainment establishment in Gangnam that Lee Sun Gyun frequented, identified as 'A,' has been arrested on charges of synthetic drug use. 'A' is also facing allegations of extorting 350 million KRW from Lee Sun Gyun through blackmail. In addition, one employee from the entertainment establishment has been booked, and 5 other individuals, including Hwang Hana, Han Heo Hee, and Jung Da Eun.
The police are planning to conduct a substance test on Lee Sun Gyun in the near future to determine the type of drugs he used and the frequency of his use.
