RIIZE have changed their fanclub name 2 days after their previous announcement.
On September 6, SM Entertainment revealed RIIZE are changing their fanclub name from SUNZ to BRIIZE. The change comes after mixed reactions to the previous fanclub name as the group name RIIZE and SUNZ together sounds similar to "rising sun," which is a controversial flag used by Japan during its colonial era. The flag carries negative connotations in parts of Asia, including Korea and China, due to its connection to Japanese militarism and imperialism.
RIIZE stated on their official fanclub, "Amidst a lot of support from fans, RIIZE announced their official fan club name upon their debut on September 4 (Mon). We introduced the fan club name SUNZ, which fans supported the most, but there are many opinions from fans who are concerned that SUNZ may unintentionally sound negative. SUNZ good meaning of growing together with RIIZE could be distorted... We'll be changing the fanclub name to BRIIZE, which received the second most amount of votes."
RIIZE's official fanclub BRIIZE opens on September 12 KST.
In other news, RIIZE made their debut with "Get a Guitar".

Haha! NO! I finally saw a new fandom name, that made sense, was a publicly aknowledged and accepted word (!) and directly connected to the group name. Well, now that's ruined. BRIIZE? Oh well, with all the dirt digging these guys have already been put through, I can see, how they want to be on the safe side. As long as everyone is happy. SUNZ was cute, though. 🌞
