Hwa Sa has released a statement regarding her recent public indecency controversy.
On September 10 KST, an official statement was released via Korean press, saying, "It's true that Hwa Sa was investigated by police, and she participated in it faithfully." The statement is in response to one made by Seoul's Seongdong Police Station earlier that day, saying they summoned Hwa Sa as a defendant at the end of last month and asked about the intention behind and background of the performance that spurred the controversy.
As previously reported, Solidarity for the Protection of Human Rights of Students and Parents is accusing Hwa Sa of public indecency during her performance at Sungkyunkwan University's campus festival back in May. According to media reports, Hwa Sa was performing "Don't Give" with rapper LOCO when she squatted down with spread legs, appeared to lick down her palm, then moved the hand down between her thighs. The video of the performance has since spread online, fueling a heated debate over whether the move was inappropriate.
"At Sungkyunkwan University, in a public place where the public can see, she committed an obscene act that has nothing to do with music," organization leader Shin Min Hyang commented. "That is why we are accusing her of a lewd act."
Meanwhile, Hwa Sa, who has recently signed with Psy's P NATION, made a solo comeback this week, releasing the single "I Love My Body" on September 6.
I like Hwasa too but you can’t stroke your pussy at a public event like that when a large constituent of Kpop fans are teens and younger.
