BTS V's first solo album is a hit in Japan!
V's first solo album 'Layover' has sold 221,491 units, reaching #1 on Oricon's Daily Album Ranking on September 8 KST. The album's lead single "Slow Dancing" also topped Oricon's Daily Digital Single Ranking chart. B-side tracks "Blue," "For Us," and "Slow Dancing (Piano Version)" appeared on the Daily Digital Single Ranking chart as well, taking 4th, 5th, and 6th position.
The album is doing well on other charts as well. As of Spotify's most recent chart, "Slow Dancing" has earned 4,743,367 streams, ranking #11 on the Daily Top Song - Global chart. The single also topped iTunes' Top Song charts in 75 countries, while 'Layover' topped Top Album charts in 65 countries.
Meanwhile, in Korea, 'Layover' sold 1,672,138 copies on its first day, immediately becoming a million-seller. With this, V has set a new record for the highest sales on the day of release for a K-pop solo singer's album.
