The title track "Slow Dancing," part of the debut solo album 'Layover' by BTS' V, has quickly climbed the U.S. Billboard Main Singles Chart, breaking into the esteemed 'HOT 100.'
According to a post on Billboard's official social media account on September 18, "Slow Dancing," which was released on September 8, solidly debuted on the 'Hot 100' at an impressive 51st spot.
As a member of BTS, V is no stranger to the chart, having already seen success with several entries, boasting a record of no less than six songs finding their stride at the top of the 'HOT 100.' With "Slow Dancing," the artist records his third individual entrance onto the chart.
While previously V had secured the 79th spot on the 'HOT100' with the Original Sound Track "Christmas Tree" from the SBS TV drama 'Our Beloved Summer,' it is "Slow Dancing" that has emerged as his highest-ranked single so far.
Pre-released track "Love Me Again," also from 'Layover,' had touched the 96th spot on the chart after its release on the 11th of last month.
"Slow Dancing" has not only achieved domestic success but has also shown noteworthy progress on the international scene. According to the latest data, the song currently holds the 4th place on the 'Global 200' chart and an even more commendable 3rd spot on the 'Global' chart (excluding the United States).
Standing out in its daring composition, "Slow Dancing" breaks away from the typical K-pop mold with a remarkable instrumental stretch. The original piano version was the intended title track until the attention-stealing flute version stirred a more profound fascination among listeners, leading to its eventual crowning as the featured track. On a similar successful streak, the song debuted in the 24th position on the latest UK Official Singles Chart (from the week of the 15th to the 21st).
Meanwhile, V's debut solo album 'Layover' is leaving an equally potent footprint, debuting in the 2nd place on this week's Billboard Main Album Chart, 'Billboard 200.' The entire album was deftly produced by accomplished producer Min Hee Jin, the current CEO of ADOR and the creative force behind the sensation girl group NewJeans.
