Last year, Nana shocked fans and netizens after appearing at an event with tattoos all over her body.

This was a big surprise to many of her fans since she had suddenly gotten numerous tattoos covering her arms and legs. 

Then in June of this year, Nana posted a new set of selfies that brought another surprise. Nana's tattoos seemed to have faded in the photos, causing fans to wonder if she was removing them.

Finally, Nana confirmed that she is erasing the tattoos. 

In the new episode of 'Jo Hyun Ah's Thursday Night,' Nana appeared as a special guest and spent time with her friend Jo Hyun Ah. 

During the show, Jo Hyun Ah brought up the topic of Nana erasing her tattoos not long after getting them. Jo Hyun Ah shared, "You get into trouble (suffering) by yourself. (Getting the tattoos) It's painful."

Nana shared, "I'm removing them," and went on to explain her reasons for getting rid of them. She shared, "My mom carefully asked me and said she wants to see my clean body. My mom even permitted me to get the tattoos... So I thought there was no problem with getting them." Nana continued, "Since she permitted me to get them so easily...I thought 'sure, it's not that hard to get rid of them'."

Nana also shared the reason she decided to get the tattoos in the first place. She explained, "The period when I got the tattoos was a mentally challenging time for me. I thought it was the only way I could express my emotion. Some people might think I'm dealing with emotion in an ignorant manner. But I thought it was the only way to alleviate the emotion I had the time. The only way I can find."

Nana also shared that it wasn't a difficult decision to get the tattoos, nor was it hard to decide to get rid of them. 

She added, "As time passed by, I became much better and got comfortable...and that's when my mom shared her thoughts." Jo Hyun Ah jokingly summarized Nana's reasons and shared, "So basically, you got scolded by your mom so you're getting rid of them." Nana laughed and shared, "Yeah."

After hearing Nana's reasons for getting her tattoos and erasing them, fans left messages of support. They commented, "Her mom is so nice," "I have tattoos too and I would get them when I was in a bad state. My mom never said anything about my tattoos, but she said she felt sad because she felt that tattoos were a form of self-harm for me. I never thought about it but what she said is true. I would get them when I'm down. I never thought about getting tattoos when I am happy. I've been better now and haven't gotten a tattoo for a long time. I hope Nana is doing better too," "I'm happy she's feeling mentally better now," "I remember Taeyeon saying that she would get a piercing when she's stressed...It seems that Nana's better now, thank goodness," "Nana fighting," "She looked like she was having a hard time," and "She got them all at once so suddenly too."
