K-dramas often bring to mind lighthearted, romantic, and clichéd storylines; however, in recent years, they have ventured into new territory by exploring diverse plotlines, including the dystopian genre. With the recent premiere of 'Black Knight,' viewers can expect to be transported into a world unlike any other. If you're curious about what dystopian K-dramas have to offer, be sure to watch these six standout series before diving into 'Black Knight'!

1. "All of Us Are Dead": The first series that viewers should check out is "All of Us Are Dead," which follows a zombie outbreak and students facing a life-or-death situation. It is truly a high schooler's nightmare! Find out who will survive and who will be infected by watching this thrilling series.

2. "Dark Hole": "Darks Hole" is another series not to be missed. It centers around a mysterious sinkhole that creates some of the most frightening mutants from smoke. The series is all about a group of survivors just trying to survive day by day in this chilling and intense environment.

Didn't watch Glitch or Dark Hole, but from the others I only recommend Kingdom and Sweet Home. There is nothing special about All of Us Are Dead, and most of the characters are actually very annoying. Black Knight has a story we have seen before in its escence, but it was really well produced, and well thought out. I don't know how much money was invested here but I can tell it's probably amongst the most expensive series Korea has had, not only because the visual effects are the best I have seen so far in a Korean production, but also because the scale of the cast is HUGE. Besides the several main characters, what makes the story very immersive imo is the high number of extras that truly give life to the world. Also, pace of the story is great, acting is good enough, the protagonists are likable, and the ending was closed, so overall a great binge series.
