On April 24, Gallup Korea announced the results of the survey ' South Korean's favorite broadcasting show programs in April.'
The survey was conducted on 1003 individuals from ages 18 and older nationwide from April 17 to 20. According to the results, SBS's 'Taxi Driver 2' took first place beating out TV CHOSUN's 'Mr. Trot 2' and Netflix's 'The Glory.'
'Taxi Driver 2' recorded a preference vote of 5.2%, followed by 'Mr. Trot 2' at 3.9%, 'The Glory' at 3.6%, 'Jinny's Kitchen' at 2.5%, and 'The Real Has Come!' at 2.3%.
'Taxi Driver 2' is a gripping TV series that revolves around Rainbow Transportation, a private taxi company that goes beyond just offering rides. 'Taxi Driver' season 1 achieved the highest viewer rating according to Nielsen Korea standard with a 16.0% viewing rate. Season 2 surpassed Season 1, reaching a viewer rating of 21.0%, which is the highest viewership rating for a mini-series this year.
I guess Koreans just love a revenge drama involving the good guys taking down the powerful (chaebols, gangsters, corrupt officials, bullies) on behalf of the little guy. I don't think I've seen any (recent) drama of this vein to fail in Korea.
