Jessica Jung recently found herself the target of fake news and controversy. It was reported earlier that Jessica doesn't eat any Chinese food and prefers kimchi over it. This accusation was then blown out of proportion and has resulted in Jessica receiving hate. However, there is no truth to these accusations.
For over a year, Jessica has been promoting on and off in China. During her time there, she ate primarily Chinese food. Even in her vlog, she was in Chinese restaurants eating traditional food. She was also spotted eating hot pot with her friends many times.
Chinese netizens are also showing their support for Jessica alongside fans. Some said it's obvious that she will eat Chinese food when she is in China. Others defended her by saying that she is often eating traditional Chinese food.
A few months ago, Chinese fans even trended a hashtag. They teased Jessica about how her face became more round after being in China and eating Chinese food. They talked about how well she is eating and expressed their adoration for her.
This post from a fan's Weibo has over 23,000 likes. The comments range from talking about how she likes Chinese food too much to how cute she looks with a round face.
Coridel Entertainment and Jessica's boyfriend Tyler Kwon also issued a statement:
Jessica doesn't like Chinese food? She loves hotpot so much. Jessica loves food from other countries. It's true that she likes kimchi, but she also likes hotpot. She eats everything well except cucumber. There are many fake news like this, but things seem to be getting big in Korea.
Why is she always the target of unnecessary hate?
