KARA's Gyuri was questioned as a witness in relation to her ex-boyfriend's alleged cryptocurrency fraud.
On February 20 KST, top Korean newspaper JoongAng Ilbo ran a story stating that 'A,' a well-known girl group member, was recently interrogated as a witness in relation to the fraudulent charges of her ex-boyfriend 'B,' an art curator. 'B' is currently under investigation with the Financial Investigation Division of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor’s Office. Prosecutors suspect that 'B' intentionally participated in distributing false information as an act of price manipulation artificially raising the price of Pi Coin cryptocurrency.
While the identity of 'A' was not revealed, other blind item details included that 'A' and 'B' dated publicly from 2019 to 2021 and even professionally collaborated, leading netizens to conclude that 'A' and 'B' must be KARA's Gyuri and Song Ja Ho, an art curator she dated publicly after meeting him at an art exhibition in 2019.
Gyuri eventually came public with a press statement released through her agency later that day, confirming her identity as 'A' and stating, "She has nothing to do with the art-linked cryptocurrency business and will cooperate as much as possible in related investigations."
Meanwhile, in 2021, Song Ja Ho was caught by police for driving under the influence and fleeing the scene after hitting a vehicle in Gangnam.
When you realize the 'chaebol families' portrayed in K-dramas are basically just taken from real life examples lol.
This guy is an 'art curator' and part of the Dongwon Chaebol family.
