On July 17, Kim Taehyung, aka V, was spotted attending the musical 'The Man Who Laughs' at Sejong Center. The musical stars his close friend, singer Park Hyo Shin playing the lead role of 'Gwynplaine.' 

Actress and singer Sophie Kim, also known as Kim So-Hyang, plays 'Lady Josiana' in the play. She uploaded a photo of Taehyung, Park Hyo Shin, and Lee Soo Bin, who plays 'Dea.'

The caption said, "He (Taehyung) said that he cried watching Josiana. 🙈 All accomplished. The overwhelming emotions of 5 performances!"

People who attended the musical shared photos and anecdotes after seeing Taehyung at Sejong Center.

One person shared, "Taehyungie also came to watch 'The Man Who Laughs.' With two managers, he had a red hat on. He sat in a row front of me and during the curtain call, he took the hat off, danced a bit and cheered enthusiastically to actors."

A fan of Hyoshin who saw Taehyung at the event said, "Ok the fit is amazing... I have been staring at him forever." 

More photos were posted of Taehyung leaving after the show ended, "It's BTS's V 😯 He went together (with cast) after the curtain call" and “Went straight into the Dressing Room with Park SeoJoon-nim." 

Famous American composer Frank Wildhorn composed 'The Man Who Laughs' musical. He revealed that Park Hyo-shin’s voice inspired him to write it.

The Broadway composer recently expressed his desire to cast Taehyung in a musical. He sent a public love call asking Taehyung to play the main character Jekyll, in his musical 'Jekyll and Hyde.'

"I think I have one request. I understand that (BTS) they’re doing solo activities. A few months ago, I saw it on Instagram; they were preparing for a concert and testing the sound before the concert, and when it came to V’s turn, he sang “This is the Moment” (a piece from "Jekyll & Hyde" play). If any reporters were to meet V, I would be thankful if they let him know that Frank Wildhorn would like him to play the role of Jekyll." - Frank Wildhorn.

'Jekyll and Hyde' revolves around the protagonist Jekyll battling between the good and evil within himself, leading to the struggle between his dual personalities of Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde. A fitting role for Taehyung, who has expressed his desire to play villains over heroes. 

Park Hyo Shin and Kim Taehyung's friendship was publicly revealed back in January through a video shared by Taehyung. The two musicians were also spotted attending the VIP Premiere of the movie 'Broker.'
