According to one exclusive media outlet report on July 28, MAMAMOO's Whee In is currently in the stages of discussing signing an exclusive contract with H1GHR MUSIC.
Whee In, who debuted with MAMAMOO back in 2014, recently chose to part ways with RBW Entertainment. When news of her parting with RBW was announced, Whee In stated, "Starting from my trainee days to now, ten years have passed where I have laughed and cried, while slowly climbing up to where I am today. I am thankful to RBW, which is like my hometown, and I am now ready to leave to a new environment."
According to the K-pop industry insiders, Whee In, after parting ways with RBW, has been carefully reviewing her options in joining a new agency. It was reported that Whee In recently reviewed a contract with H1GHR MUSIC. H1GHR MUSIC is a hip hop label run by Jay Park, and is home to many trendy artists, including Sik-K, pH-1, Woodie Gochild, HAON, Big Naughty, and GOT7 member JAY B.
Whee In has shown her credibility as a strong vocalist through her collaborations with various artists and a wide range of genres. From ballad to hip hop, Whee In has received a lot of love for her vocal range and unique tone. She has also previously collaborated with H1GHR MUSIC artists in "TRASH" with pH-1 and "EASY" with Sik-K. Thus, a lot of attention is focused on whether Whee In will decide to officially sign an exclusive contract with H1GHR MUSIC.
[UPDATE] Whee In's representatives have denied the reports of her discussing signing an exclusive contract with H1GHR MUSIC.
On July 28th, a representative of Whee In stated, "It is not true that Whee In is in the final stages of discussing signing an exclusive contract with H1GHR MUSIC. Whee In has been receiving love calls from various companies, but nothing has been decided yet."
I knew it! Jay park is out here snatching all the idols to join his label when their groups disband.
Hate the guy but you can't deny he's good at business.
I bet when Jay park hears or reads that a group is disbanding he's on standby ready to offer them a contract they can't refuse lol
