SUGA's solo mixtape has once again demonstrated his abilities as Agust D by setting a new record on Spotify, the world's largest music platform. Agust D's second mixtape, 'D-2', released last year, surpassed 350 million streams on Spotify on July 5th. This is the highest streaming record on Spotify for an album released by a Korean solo artist.
In the music video for 'Daechwita,' the main track of 'D-2,' which was released on May 22 last year, SUGA gain attention by contrasting his past self with his present, going back and forth between the rebel and the King, garnering worldwide attention as he was evaluated as a reflection of SUGA's current worldview as a successful member of BTS and as a solo artist. Fans cheered and applauded for SUGA's new record as August D.
SUGA, who released a mixtape under the name August D, combined the first 'Agust D' mixtape released in 2016 and the second 'D-2' mixtape released in 2020 and recorded 500 million streams on Spotify.
