Track List:
1. EXIT
2. DRACULA
3. EXIT - Instrumental
T1419 is a newer group that's just released a Part. 2 to their Before Sunrise series. They've returned with two new songs, "EXIT" and "DRACULA."
"EXIT" features a mysterious bassline introduction that's interwoven with the sound of an alarm that suddenly leads us into an oddly unique mix of jazz and trap. "EXIT" is strangely downtempo and the overall pace of the song never quite picks up as expected, but overall is a consistently okay performance. The cyphers are delivered very deliberately; however, this isn't necessarily the most easy-to-consume.
"DRACULA" is another jazz-inspired hip-hop song. It features minor trap infusions and moves into a slightly more progressive EDM sound briefly before returning to a stagnant tempo. Both songs on this release are relatively inoffensive, but at the same time, they fail to capture my attention or make me want to return for another listen.
MV REVIEW
T1419's MV for "EXIT" is high school personified. From classroom scenes to baseball teams, this MV is as youthful as the members of this group. To my surprise, I had expected a shoddier MV, but this MV features crisp visuals, interesting styling, and dynamic shots of the members. Though I can't say this MV is entirely original, I do appreciate their take on this classic MV concept.
