Every Kpop fan probably knows BTS and one of their members that goes under the stage name JIN. Eight years into his career as an idol he has achieved many things and built his own image in the industry. However, there are still many facts about Kim Seokjin (real name) you may not know. 1) He is a great singer.

Seokjin has the widest range in BTS - he has a beautiful voice for low notes and the widest belting range. He is a tenor, but can belt up to B5 - which is a female register. The distinctive feature of his vocals is the emotions he is able to convey through every line. Vocals is one of the main reasons he goes viral very frequently.

3) He is very athletic.

Let's start by looking at how incredibly flexible he is. BTS says he is their most flexible member. Seokjin never had any ballet training as a child because he had different interests, yet he can easily repeat the ballet dancers' movements! One of his interests is yoga where he develops his flexibility even more.

As a child, Seokjin started loving running (he got 4th place in his school), swimming, tennis (won the Tennis Championship on RUN BTS), golf, snowboarding. He knows how to play billiards, rides the bicycle without hands, does boxing, good at archery, knows taekwondo, great at basketball, great at all kinds of water sports, he even showed great skills at roller skating.

4) He is a great actor.

It's a known fact Seokjin decided to become an idol when he already was 18-20 years old. Before that, he considered the idol career not interesting (he was street-casted by SM Ent twice before BigHit and even passed the audition) and was half-way on becoming a Korean actor. At the age of 18 (before being cast by BigHit) he enrolled into Konkuk - the most prestigious acting university in Korea. This university is very popular even Worldwide but Seokjin's department accepts only 10 students every year. That is why some people try to get into Konkuk for a few years, trying to pass the exam and audition again and again. When Seokjin was applying to Konkuk, he had 2,012 competitors the rate was 200:1 - everyone had a 0.5% chance. The first exam was free acting and out of all 2000+ people, only 100 passed including Seokjin. The second exam was assigned acting and this is when the final 10 formed including Seokjin. Getting into any university in Korea is super competitive - getting into Konkuk is insanely competitive. One detail that makes everything even more shocking is that Seokjin got into the university on an early admission which makes the competitive rate even higher. Seokjin achieved it purely with his acting skills. He said everyone was going up to the third floor of the Konkuk building to see who he was (the person who got into Konkuk on a first try on an early admission). Besides that, Seokjin also got into the Sejong University that also has the 10 people quota and 1:157 competition but decided to go to Konkuk.

Seokjin finished the university with a double major - film and animation. All while also being an idol, training day and night, and participating in tours.

It is not a secret Seokjin showed his amazing acting skills through many BTS videos and Knetz as well as ARMYs never miss a day to ask him to act. It was also revealed that he is the most demanded acting idol in acting agencies.

Seokjin is known among the biggest actors of Korea and is friends with many of them. One more of his acting talents is his diction and ability to do professional voiceovers for cartoons - he even got praised by a Korean voice actor.

5) He is very beautiful.

Seokjin is the Official Visual of BTS and been getting praises for his whole life and was known for his looks among the students and when BTS were not known widely. Seokjin was the first member of BTS Vocal line to start songwriting. He started in 2014. In 2016 his first solo song "Awake" has been released - it became the first and only BTS solo song to chart on Billboard real-time chart. His melodies have been used in many BTS songs after that as well. Seokjin says he writes 30 melodies per day. "Moon" that was composed and written by him became one of the most successful songs BTS ever released. The song received major success on all charts, broke records, and became the favorite song of critics. "Moon" was named the 5th best boyband song ever in history by Rolling Stones (The only Kpop song in Top10) and added to the Top 20 best songs of 2020 by them being the only Kpop song on the list. In real life, Seokjin believes in positive vision - he always lives in the present, finds little happiness in everything. In the episode of BTS being pranked by meeting a crying woman in the elevator Seokjin was the only one who immediately asked if she was okay instead of acting weird. In 2015 BTS wanted to prank Seokjin on his Birthday by making a random woman lie in his bed when he was away from his hotel room with TV reporters. When he entered the room and saw the woman he immediately started covering the cameras so they would not ruin her privacy.

He is very worried about respecting everyone's personal space the same thing was seen when Seokjin, Irene, and Chanyeol were being the MCs of the event.

One of the topics Seokjin often talks about is Mental Health. He has been speaking up about destigmatizing reaching out for the help of the professionals ever since 2016. His new song "Abyss" is on this topic as well.

When Seokjin was a child he was dreaming of becoming a news reporter to help people in need.

Last year BTS was having a collaborative RUN episode with T1 - the legendary gaming team of Korea and the greatest League of Legends franchise in history. While playing the League of Legends Seokjin has shown his great skills making the invited pro-gamers understand he is their main enemy in the game - Seokjin even won against them.

Around the same time, Maple Story invited BTS to their studio because Seokjin is the most known fan of their game.
