SF9 in talks to join The Boyz, Stray Kids & more in 'Kingdom' lineup

SF9 are in talks to join the lineup of Mnet's 'Kingdom'!

On January 22, reports revealed the boy group had joined the next season of the music reality series, and their label FNC Entertainment clarified, "SF9 received an offer to join 'Kingdom', and their appearance is being discussed."

As previously reported, 'Kingdom' has confirmed The Boyz, Stray Kids, and ATEEZ as part of the competing lineup, while TVXQ's Yunho and Changmin will be hosting the show. iKON and BTOB are also in talks.

The upcoming season of 'Kingdom' is expected to premiere by April of this year. Stay tuned for updates!

I'm confused.. but isn't sf9's popularity around the level of the other road to kingdom groups? then what's the point of those other groups competing in rtk in the first place? like they might as well just let groups like pentagon directly join kingdom instead...
