
As of April 5, 'The Match' has officially surpassed 1 million cumulative moviegoers, according to data from the Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing system.
The film, which premiered on March 26, has consistently held the top spot at the Korean box office. It reached the 1 million milestone just 11 days after its release.

In celebration, the cast expressed their gratitude to the audience. Lee Byung Hun, who plays legendary Go player Cho Hun Hyun, hand wrote a special message in Korean calligraphy reading “Thank you, one million."
He also showcased his impressive calligraphy skills by recreating the character "Musim" (無心), symbolizing Cho’s mindset before a crucial match in the film.

Lee, along with co-stars Hyun Bong Sik, Moon Jeong Hee, Jo Woo Jin, and director Kim Hyung Joo, also arranged Go stones on a board to form the number "100," as a token of appreciation to their fans.
'The Match' team is scheduled to greet audiences in person with stage greetings throughout the weekend.
'The Match' tells the compelling story of Go legend Cho Hun Hyun (Lee Byung Hun) as he challenges his protégé Lee Chang Ho (Yoo Ah In) in a battle for redemption and the top title in the world of professional Go.
