The group NewJeans has changed their account name once again.
On April 4, NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein) updated their social media account name, which previously included their new name "NJZ," to "mhdhh_friends" and deleted all previously uploaded posts. A separate account reportedly run by the members’ parents was also renamed to "mhdhh_pr."
It is presumed that "mhdhh" is an acronym formed from the English initials of the members’ names: Minji (M), Hanni (H), Danielle (D), Haerin (H), and Hyein (H).
Previously, in November last year, the five NewJeans members claimed their exclusive contracts with ADOR had been terminated due to breaches and began pursuing independent activities. In February, they announced "NJZ" as their new group name instead of NewJeans.
In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of their exclusive contracts, along with an injunction to maintain its position as their agency and prohibit the signing of advertising deals.
The members cited 11 reasons for terminating their contracts, including the absence of former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, an internal HYBE report titled “We can just drop ‘New’ and start over,” and a statement from former HYBE CEO Park Ji Won saying he would “give NewJeans a long vacation.”
However, the court accepted all of ADOR’s injunction requests last month. As a result, NewJeans is now unable to continue their independent activities and has declared a suspension of all promotions.
