Broadcaster Jun Hyun Moo is recovering from a serious bout of laryngitis caused by a cold, and fans are rallying around him with messages of support.
At the end of the April 4th episode of MBC’s variety show 'I Live Alone', a preview of Jun's segment showed him struggling with his voice. Appearing on screen with his mouth covered and barely speaking, Jun’s condition alarmed viewers. Later, he was seen visiting a hospital and receiving an IV drip, looking visibly worn down.
“I feel like a walking corpse,” he said, revealing he had been diagnosed with acute laryngitis and pharyngitis, and hadn’t had a voice for eight days. “The doctor told me to rest, but I have commitments I can’t cancel,” he added, expressing frustration while doing everything he could to recover his voice.

In one scene, visibly emotional and alone at home, Jun scrolled through his phone and suddenly burst into laughter — thanks to the flood of encouraging comments from fans.
Earlier, Jun had taken to social media to share his condition, writing: “This cold-induced laryngitis is brutal. Health is everything — I need nothing else. This might be the worst I’ve ever had. It’s even lonelier being sick alone.”
Touched by the overwhelming response, he later said, “Your comments really helped my self-esteem and my recovery. I read every one of them. That’s probably why my voice is coming back.”
Determined to heal, Jun focused on rest and proper meals. “You have to eat to get better,” he said, hopeful that he would feel even stronger the next day.
His resilience and the warmth of his fans turned a difficult moment into a heartwarming reminder of support and community.
