Chinese fashion magazine ‘RayLi’ has revealed two covers for their January 2021 issue featuring Kang Daniel.
This is the first time a Korean male artist has appeared on the cover of this magazine in its 26-year history. Previously, Korean female artists who appeared on the cover are Girls’ Generation’s YoonA and f(x)’s Krystal. YoonA is RayLi’s first-ever Korean artist cover model to appear on the magazine New Year's issue.
RayLi is regarded as one of the top-read fashion magazines in China, distributing to over 10 million readers.
The pictorial shows Kang Daniel dressed in an array of chic clothing, from patterned suits to cozy winter garments.
The accompanying the pictorial dove into several topics about Kang Daniel’s life and career, such as the meaning behind his music, his love of movies and the action genre in particular, how he would like to work with JJ Lin, and how his venture in Portland in early 2020 for his travel show ‘Hello, Daniel’ helped him regain his confidence. Daniel mentioned he is currently preparing his next album, teasing that his favorite song is the one he is working on now.
RayLi is Kang Daniel’s first non-Korea fashion magazine cover. In the past, he was the cover model for several Korean magazines, including Grazia, Vogue, and Arena Homme+.
I'm pretty sure he's the first Korean male artist to appear on the cover *ever*, but I couldn't find an article stating as such so I went with a safer title. RayLi is huge, so proud of him!
