Gfriend latest Music Video "Crossroads" have been swept up with plagiarism rumours for its striking resemblance to BTS's past music videos. Gfriend is trending number 21 on China's largest social site WEIBO. Netizens have noticed many similarities between Gfriend's latest music video with BTS past works and compiled it in a series of snapshot shown below.
No official statement has been released yet. Some speculate that it is BigHit's marketing strategy. However, the BTS and Gfriend fandom does not seems to be taking it well. Comments have been flooding on WEIBO and the 2 fandoms, ARMY and BUDDY, have stood out to defend their own idols. Chinese Army are taking this very seriously as they said they cannot "tolerate such plagiarism or marketing act" while Buddies have also stood up to say that Gfriend has been doing good the whole time without Big Hit, so the blame should be on Big Hit. As of now, negative comments have been flooding in and garnered over 100 likes on Weibo.
What do you guys think about this situation?
