Shortly after the announcement of EXID's brand new '2019 EXID Summer Live Tour' in Japan this August, Banana Culture Entertainment released an official statement to assure fans of the group's promotional plans.
Last week, the girls of EXID shocked fans with the news that members Hani and Junghwa have decided not to renew their contracts with Banana Culture. As a result, the group plans on taking a hiatus for a short period of time after releasing their upcoming 5th mini album 'WE'. However, according to Banana Culture today, the 5 EXID members will continue to keep their promise with fans throughout this year.
Read the label's statement below:
"We would like to notify you of EXID's future Japanese promotion plans.
Just as we announced last time, by the end of this month, EXID members Solji, LE, and Hyerin will renew their contracts with our label, while Hani and Junghwa's contracts will be coming to an end; however, EXID's upcoming Japanese promotions will continue without changes for approximately the next year.
Furthermore, EXID's upcoming Japanese tour '2019 EXID Summer Live Tour' which kicks off this August 11 will take place with all 5 members - Solji, LE, Hyerin, Hani, and Junghwa - present.
We will not withhold any of our fullest support toward the members' future promotions as a group, as well as in their individual fields. We ask for your abundant support toward EXID's upcoming title track 'ME&YOU', and also for your warm cheers and encouragements toward the EXID members.
Thank you."
EXID's '2019 EXID Summer Live Tour' this August 11 in Osaka, before heading to Nagoya on August 12, Fukuoka on August 14, and finally Tokyo on August 16.
I'd wait for official confirmation before spending money on tickets. Hani and Junghwa have no obligation to Banana Culture the second their contract ends and they're not going to work for free.
