On February 5th 2019, it was announced via Instagramthat BLACKPINK would be holding an additional UK show in Manchester, England at the Manchester Arena due to 'Phenomenal Demand'.
Eager fans rushed to buy tickets starting sale on Wednesday 5th February with some then ordering the group's official lightstick straight after to take along with them to the show.
However, it was soon revealed by a fan who emailed the venue with some queries that the lightsticks were in fact not permitted at the show.
WARNING FOR THOSE ATTENDING BLACKPINK INYOURAREA MANCHESTER: I have been informed by the arena that they will not allow lightsticks in the arena. We can try to get them to allow it but it's unlikely so I would recommend buying lightsticks at the merch table if they're being sold.
As of now, not many fans who are attending the concert at Manchester Arena seem to be aware of this issue and it has also not been made clear if they will be sold inside the venue once they pass the security measures. It is also said that the venue themselves do not seem to be able to give a clear answer to everybody's questions which is leading to mixed messages.
[Update On Lighsticks in Manchester Arena]
I phoned up today, unfortunately I didn’t really get anywhere. The lady was not interested in my query, and said that they were not a necessary item for the concert. She said they may sell them as merch but 🥴 +
I think this is about security concerns relating to the 2017 bombing

This may seem a lot but Machester arena is extra strict on security after the 2017 bombing. so I know as a kpop fan we love to show our colours with light sticks but we also need to understand the Arena’s decision. It’s also out of YG’s hands. So don’t blame him. It’s not his fault there was a terror attack that put security on high alert.
