Some netizens are reacting coldly to Koo Jun Hoe's apology.
On September 25, the iKON member was stirred up in a controversy for firing back at a fan, who suggested he delete the Instagram post regarding the Japanese comedian/film director Kitano Takeshi.
Kitano Taekshi is infamous for making anti-Korea remarks in the past.
In response to the issue, Koo Jun Hoe issued two apologies. In the first apology, Koo Jun Hoe stated, "I'm sorry. He was an actor I liked, and I didn't know any of the other information." In the second, handwritten apology, Koo Jun Hoe reflected on his wrongdoings and said, "I'm really regretting my rash response to the first fan who was trying to look out for me.
Despite his messages of regret and reflection, netizens are continuing to fire criticism against the idol.
Netizens claim Koo Jun Hoe's apology lacks sincerity. One commenter stated, "How did he not know 'the other information'? The fan directly said in the comment that the Japanese guy is infamous for anti-Korea remarks." Another commenter said, "I guess YG told him to write the second apology after things blew up. So fake."
Comments of criticism continued, "I guess he got in trouble for the post, but it's too late now", "How could he be so rude to a fan that was looking out for him?", "Bye Jun Hoe", "Just go to Japan."
