In a recent Afreeca TV broadcast, G.O shared the pain and torture the panels had to go through during filming for the hit SBS variety show, which aired for nearly 10 years from 2007 to 2016.
G.O first said, "It's just pure pain," and revealed he and fellow member Mir always became extremely sensitive and stressed on Sundays as 'Star King' recording was scheduled on Mondays.
He explained, "We get calls on Monday morning and when we arrive, it's a chaos." Filming usually took about 10 to 12 hours, according to G.O. The idol said, "At first, we really worked hard but we didn't really make an appearance on the show for 10 weeks.... We ended up just shouting 'Wow, 'Yeah' in the background."
G.O revealed he used to be very upset at his lack of screening time but decided to lighten up and enjoy recordings by getting rebellious; not following the script, showing reaction as he pleased, etc. He wanted his rebellious act to get him cut from the show but ironically, the producers ended up loving him even more as his unpredictable reactions were funny.
G.O also shared that the producers sometimes turned down Mir and his mic because they made random comments. In the summer, the sets got extremely hot due to lack of air conditioning. He and Mir would whisper, "Audio director, please turn on the AC, please."
