On January 11, the second day of the '32nd Golden Disc Awards' took place at Ilsan Kintex. Among the performances was a tribute stage for the late SHINee member, in which Lee Hi sang "Breathe", a track written and composed by the late idol.

During the performance, Lee Hi was unable to hold back her emotions and teared up on stage. There was a moment of silence as she was unable to continue singing. 

In the audience, Taeyeon was also spotted trying to hold back her emotions, however, she ultimately broke down in tears. 

Both Taeyeon and Lee Hi were close friends with the late idol. Netizens left comments of encouragement, stating, "Don't cry. He will be hurt seeing you sad.. Cheer up", "It was amazing to see Lee Hi trying to finish the performance. You did well", "And Taeyeon sang live right after the emotional moment. She did well."
