The 'IU Disease' came about after one netizen's post went viral, when she claimed that "My unnie has 'IU Disease'". After the initial viral post, viewers of 'Hyori's Bed & Breakfast' all over began claiming that they also had the disease, or someone they knew had caught it from IU. The symptoms of someone who has 'IU Disease' includes the following:�

Wearing a large sized sporty jacket all day, like IU's trademark, purple 'NERDY' jacket often seen on 'Hyori's Bed & Breakfast'.�

Sitting around staring off into space, or often seen reading in his/her large sporty jacket/wear.�

Stuffing one's mouth with as much food as possible during meals, then leaving one's mouth closed and chewing with small facial movements. Those with 'IU Disease' also take forever to chew and swallow their food, making them the last person sitting at the table each meal.�

Those with 'IU Diease' also often do simple household chores like cleaning while staying at home all day, and in between chores, they snack on chocolate pieces, very much like IU on 'Hyori's Bed & Breakfast'.�

SNS users in Korea left and right seem fully convinced that they, or someone they know, are showing very similar symptoms to those mentioned above. While some may be cases of copying the popular singer after watching her on the show, others seem to be homebodies who relate heavily to IU's actions.�
