He mentioned in his interview, "In my 2nd and 3rd albums, I wrote comforting lyrics hoping to ease the painful experiences from love. This time, I wrote this album having a special person in mind. Also, I tried to include emotions others can relate to. I wanted to go for a more general melody or sound for this particular album."

When asked which song felt closest to him, Roy Kim answered, "It has to be the title song 'Suddenly' of course. I actually struggled the most while writing that song, so it turned out much better than I had expected. Wouldn't that be the reason why I chose it as the title song? Hahaha."
