Mnet's 'New Yang Nam Show' is currently under fire for the recent lottery prank pulled on Girl's Day's Hyeri.
The Lottery Commission of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance has taken issue with the prank as it decreases public confidence in the lottery system. On April 7, the commission stated, "After commissioning an advisor, it's hard to say whether the 'New Yang Nam Show' has committed a serious legal violation against lottery law. However, it's easy to see the controversy of the lottery after the broadcast, and the content of the broadcast has been judged to be detrimental to the reliability of lottery tickets."
The commission continued that the lottery must be secure and transparent in the public eye, and the Broadcasting Communication Deliberation Committee has been contacted several times concerning the 'New Yang Nam Show' prank.
