Many of Gary's contacts have been expressing shock over the news as well. One acquaintance said, "I didn't know about Gary's marriage. Gary is usually private about these kinds of matters and doesn't like to go public about them." As for his mysterious wife, the acquaintance reported, "I don't know what kind of person she is."
A rep from Gary's agency was similarly taken aback, saying, "I was shocked by Gary's marriage news. Gary normally doesn't tell us about his private life, but I didn't know he would hide his marriage from us," adding, "We don't know who his wife is. His manager and stylist also said they didn't know." On the possibility that the Leessang member was hacked, the rep stated, "We thought it was a belated April fool's joke. However, he said it was the truth."
It's also reported Gary's former 'Running Man' members, who he spent 7 years with, were not aware of his plans to marry either. A rep from the show commented, "We did not know about Gary's marriage at all. Even the members were very shocked about the news."
