Each taste-tester gave their opinion about the meat, commented on the different types of dipping sauces, while they shared snippets of their heart-filled stories. "Using a fork is really uncomfortable. Not going to give me some chopsticks" one man claimed, not used to the American customs. With that, the interviewer said, "You gotta eat it the American way."
When asked how often they ate beef, the man replied, "Eating beef is enough to get you executed. They'll shoot you." Another person revealed the harsh living conditions, "I used to be a farmer and based on my personal experience, you have to sell 10 kg (22 Ibs) of rice to get 1 kg (2 Ibs) of meat. 10kg of rice would be enough to feed an entire family for a week."
One woman commented about what was surprising in South Korea, "The most shocking thing was seeing how much food people wasted." When the interviewer asked, "What are some common misconceptions about North Korea?" She replied, "South Koreans tend to perceive North Koreans as bad people. They think North Koreans are evil...But those are only the people that govern the country...Regular North Koreans are some of the warmest people you'll ever meet."
When asked, "So, what was your impression of American BBQ?" She said, "It was delicious. I didn't expect to like these sauces, but I ended up liking them." She added her wish towards the end, "I hope the two Koreas can become reunified soon so that people in the North can try this, too."
